[...] The Dept. of Homeland Security clearly has a crack team on this case. They even intercepted a “communication shared among environmental organization” informing them that 2010 would be a “kick ass year” for Climate Ground Zero. This top secret communication is available on Rainforest Action Network’s Understory blog.
It amazes me, that as a residential remodeling contractor, that the EPA has to stick their greedy hands into my pockets and steal, when in reality their hands are probably already full from Companies like Massey. All contractors, nationwide are being forced into filing for, receiving and registering to be a "certified" lead-based removal contractor. The fees are not considerably steep (but the fines are) in terms of normal business fees, However, if you add up all the contractors, plumbers/electricians/remodelers/HVAC/ etc. the $500+ fee amounts to quite a bit. Why is it that in comparison to MTR overburden stored in a "pond" goes unchecked/un-punished and overlooked. As a resident of PA., we are finding ourselves in the fight against not only large Natural Gas corporations but time as well. If the Natural gas exploitation (& fracking (fracturing 0f the earths underground)continues at the current rate, we too will be suffering from polluted ground water, more than what already has! Each well takes between 3 MILLION & 6 MILLION gals of polluted water to drill)Enough is enough. Coal is not "green" and neither is natural gas, but the money and profits it generates is!

What more can I do to stop mountain top removal coal mining? I sent a letter (email) to Consumers Energy in Michigan voicing my opposition to a new "clean coal" power plant and replied to their statement about "misconceptions", pointing out their blatant deceptions. How do we force the EPA to protect the mountains, forests, streams, rivers, wildlife, air and people of Appalachia from the devistating effects of coal mining? Why is Obama silent? Glad you are doing what you can. I am trying to use as little electricity as possible. If I had money to send, I would. What else can I do? Should I come to West Virginia and climb a Liriodendron Tulipifera?
