[...] Of course, we all know that the real green behind the green movement is the color of money – as in, these groups want to take it away from you by any means possible. There’s even a term for it – greenwashing. [...]

As people that care about our dying planet, the most powerful thing we can do is fight green capitalism. We can not let these sh**stains make money off the destruction they have caused. The rest of the NGO's, specifically Environmental Defense and the Nature Conservancy have buddied up with these pillagers. Without their complicity, this fabrication of green corporations wouldn't work. Thank you RAN!

IMHO, one of the most important articles on here. Although these companies have been steadily fighting the environment for decades, they would have us believe that they have suddenly been converted to determined environmentalists.

I have actually read a newsletter that ExxonMobil sends to its shareholders (I am not one) and i noticed, even before reading this article, that there was a lot of talk about "clean" coal, efficiency, reducing emissions, and the like, but the newsletter still asserted that fossil fuels must continue to be an important energy source. Could that be, perhaps, because ExxonMobil produces and sells fossil fuels? Surely not!

Thanks for this article! I assumed all these corps were greenwashing, but it's useful to get the low down on them all in one place. If it's not already, this should be shared facebook, myspace, etc.; I'll pass it on. :)

Cheers

One convicted felon unfortunatly missing from your list is Con Edison Co.of NY. I have a 16 year ongoing Federal Clean Water Act lawsuit that charges them with deliberatly discharging PCB's and dioxins into L.I. Sound for 70 years. They were previously convicted in Federal Court for lying about environmental crimes yet in my case they lied to the authorities, citizens and Federal Courts even while on probation, denying the PCB pollution. They even had an illegal PCB substation under the Twin Towers that fueled the toxic fires for days with thousands of gallons of toxic oil and caused the steel supporting beams to give way causing building #5 to implode. They have a dismal environmental record and their internal memos prove their motive was to save the company money.
