My teenage daughters gave up the beloved chocolate bars that are made with palm oil. It is that important to us to save the rain forests!

Steering clear of palm oil is good for many reasons. Not only is palm oil bad for the rainforests, it is responsible for the destruction of orangutan habitat, thus bringing orangutans to the brink of extinction. Also, being a hydrogenated oil, palm oil is bad for your arteries.

I was not aware about the destruction of rain forests for palm oil. You can bet I won’t be buying any products that contain it. I will pass this info along to my family, friends, and co-workers.

As someone who has adopted the practice of checking the ingredients in everything I buy, I have added Palm Oil to list of substances unwelcome in my home. I have found that the effort that it takes to check ingredients is well worth the peace of mind of knowing that I am doing ever thing I can to help make ours a sustainable world for all.
