The destruction of our mountains, natural habitat and ecosystems forever is a failure of our government and those that oversee the strip mining companies. Once a mountain which formed thousands of years ago becomes destroyed it can never be replaced. Not only do you destroy the habitats of upland plants, animals and organisms but the destruction of wetlands, streams, and rivers are included as well. Very sad for our environment and even sadder for the generations to come that may never see the mountain that once was.

Thank you to all the courageous people who are willing to put their bodies on the line to demand climate change solutions when the powerholders refuse to listen. I was at Climate Camp in Australia 2 weeks ago (www.climatecamp.org.au) and it was a beautiful, inspiring experience to see 1000 ordinary citizens supporting the 50 who walked onto the coal rail line, stopping the coal trains and getting arrested in the process. Power to the people!
