Thanks Becky.
My husband was a union, underground miner for almost 30 yrs. He is now suffering from injuries (which the coal whores refuse to pay) and severe kidney disease. He just got out of the hospital. So yes we are sick and getting sicker. But we aren’t going to take it laying down any more.
It was great meeting you Becky and thanks for helping with this campaign.

BOA, if you are reading this: It’s great that you have visited Kayford Mountain and seen first hand how MTR is wrecking mountains and peoples lives. You won’t be able to deny the conditions that folks are living in and the poverty that goes hand and hand with the Coal Industry. I hope you’ll read up on the effects of MTR from folks that have lived with it, studied it, and endured it. Check out Erik Reese’s book Lost Mountain for starters!

Great read Becky. The lady exec from BOA had it wrong however when she said, “I believe you’re having a day of action against us today.” The reality is, BOA and the coal asses have a day of action against us everyday.

The better part is that the actions that were happening on Friday were organized by groups in NC like Asheville Rising Tide not RAN and that BOA execs are all of sudden faced with a movement.

Was the “I believe you’re having a day of action against us today” a suggestion that they’re being good sports but the crazy activists aren’t responding with reciprocal civility? If so, the only appropriate response would be, “Yes, and I believe you’re still funding mountain-top removal today.”
