New indy film about 2005 deportation of Texan peace and environmental activist from Australia
Not sure how well this is known in the RAN blogosphere, but in 2005, before I came to RAN, I was detained and forcibly removed from Australia for reasons of state security. I traveled through that lovely land doing workshops on civil disobedience, anti-corporate campaigning and the U.S. anti-war movement. The government didn’t like.
You can check out more about it here.
Anyway, a film-maker friend has made a short video about that experience and I wanted to post it.

A frightening portrait of the global war on dissent and free speech as well as a revealing tale of how governments could better serve their citizenry by stopping spying on them!
Two thumbs up!
