I do know that the is MORE forest today in North America than there was 100 years ago. I also know that we plant more than 2 BILLION trees every year in southern forests and that forestry is sustainable now and forever if done properly. The question about how many trees is meaningless w/o specifying where and which kind. On my own land I recently cut thousands of trees to IMPROVE wildlife habitat. Ecology is a tricky thing.
