BP does make solar panels, it's just that they're also wiping out that benefit many times over by developing the tar sands. If you accept the idea that oil companies will never stop destroying the planet (and that we can't stop them), then it makes sense to praise them for putting in a relatively small investment in renewables. It's about where you think the baseline is. Here at RAN we tend to expect more. I don’t know, sometimes it’s hard to know when praise is appropriate.
