Some Perspective on Life Without Fossil Fuels

It can seem overwhelming to think about giving up our dependence on fossil fuels because it would mean changing habits we’ve come to take for granted. Like getting our groceries 6 miles from where we live, or visiting people in other parts of the country every couple of months. But then, sometimes it hits me. It would also mean life without this, or this, or this. The unknown is scary, but could it really be that much worse?

I would like to know, on a smaller scale, ways in which each of us could cut down dramatically on our use of fossil fuels. Every little bit helps. Also what can we do to “urge: businesses to cut back to the bone their extravagant usage of fossil fuel. I would be happy to submit letters to the ceos of whomever should be contacted.

I was told once that it is the urine from the tiger that keeps the rainforrest going and that without the tigers the rainforrest would die. How much truth is there to this?
