A scary stat coming from an ACNielson internet poll: 13% of Americans have never heard of global warming.
Whats more compelling from an international perspective, but of course not surprising, is that 91% of the people polled thought that global warming was a “serious problem” or a “very serious problem.”
I don’t want to assume anything but I have to think that the fact it was an online-based poll, it might cast a certain demographic on the respondents.

When I first heard about the 13% of Americans who have not heard of Global Warming, I thought to myself, how on earth is that possible with all the media of today? If it was an on-line based poll, it makes it that much more confusing because they have access to the Internet. I could understand that sort of figure, or even a higher figure from Africa, as there are many people here which do not have the sort of liberties Americans have. 13% is just darn right frightning, especially in this day and age!
