Santa came early; And Weyerhaeuser got a surprise!
Before the holiday season, RAN activists in Seattle delivered 500 gifts containing a dvd about the struggle in Grassy Narrows and information about RAN’s old growth campaign to Quadrant homeowners in the Puget Sound region. The action was designed to educate homeowners about Weyerhaeuser’s destructive and disrespectful logging practices – Quadrant homes are currently built with wood clear-cut from the Grassy Narrows First Nation’s traditional territory, against the wishes of the community. Santa came early the other day delevering presents to 500 unknowing Weyerhaeuser, Quadrant Homes customers. Quadrant Homes, which is a subsidiary of Weyerhaeuer, uses wood from Grassy Narrows First Nation to build manufactured homes, and then decieves their homebuyers, tricking them into purchasing an oversized “built green” house that is anything but built green, and let me tell you that Santa does not like greedy, deceptive, liars! So to help make things right RAN & The Seattle Rainforest Action Group went gift giving at several of Quadrant Home’s “communities.”
It was a chilly night when we all met up in the meeting location and briefed everyone about our fun, little action. We pulled out some hot apple cider & toasted to Grassy Narrows & then prepared for a gift giving that Quadrant Home’s would not soon forget!
What we did that night was visit 500 Quadrant Homes, delivering holiday presents with a bunch of goodies, including a dvd full of footage of Grassy Narrow’s struggle on the frontlines.
Our first location was in Federal Way, WA and in record time we delivered a ton of presents to Quadrant Home owners (including our buddies at the Quadrant Homes sales office). On our way back to the enterence; which can be very confusing seeing as how everything looks the EXACT SAME! we decided to stop and get some pics of us with the Quadrant Banner, and we ran into a Quadrant Homeowner who was in complete support and even offered to take a couple shots of the group with our camera. As we departed from our first location we decided to brake up and tackle a couple more sites so we headed up to both of the Kent ‘Comminities,’ both of which looked the exact same; (go figure!) but we found our way well enough to deliver the rest of our 500 little presents. The best part is, as I was heading back down a road that I had already delivered presents to, looking for my long lost glove, I glanced in a window and saw thatone of te homeowners was sitting in his recliner watching the DVD, and that sure made my day!
The next day, I just thought of how awesome it was that hundreds of families would be sitting down to learn the truth, and would hopefully be calling Peter Orser; Quadrant Home’s President, or writting him a postcard demanding Quadrant Homes and Weyerhaeuser, stop the destruction of Indigenous Homelands, and begin using alternative, sustainable alternatives. So just as a reminder to every deceptive homebuilder or greedy logging corporation out there; You had better watch out, and you had better change your ways, beause santa might visit your customers with a little holiday surprise!

You guys are a bunch of idiots if you beleive what you have written. You are twisting and manipulating the truth. Also, weyerhauser plants more trees than it cuts down. Trees are a renewable source, they can be replanted. Get the facts correct before you try to brainwash.
