End Oil Aid Now!!
Not the catchiest of chants, but it gets the point across as we’re entering a new century where public institutions like the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the US Treasury are STILL subsidizing Big Oil for power and profit with total disregard for the environment and people. Not only are they destroying the climate, but also locking countries into cycles of debt and poverty.
In Chad, after funding a major oil project with Exxonmobil, the World Bank allowed Chad’s authoritarian president to use oil revenues to buy weapons instead of for poverty alleviation programs.
In Ecuador, the World Bank monkey-wrenched poverty relief programs that would have been funded by oil revenues.
At the same time, Exxonmobil is making $4.7 million an HOUR!!
At the same time, gas prices are at an all time high.
Commercial banks are no less culpable as they manage, broker and profit from international debt and oil development projects.
Today, Rainforest Action Network, along with our friends at Amazon Watch, Friends of the Earth, Jubilee USA, Bank Information Center and Oil Change International, took out a full page ad in the Financial Times calling for a new era in oil industry relations (i.e. End Oil Aid).
We have a new Congress that has talked tough on ending aid to Big Oil, now is the time to make sure they put it on their agenda. Sign this petition to the new Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, today!!

Dear Ms, I feel that backing new technologie`s may be a sounder investment for a future on planet earth. Rather than backing combustion based technologie`s that only prolong thee inevitible,I believe that thee indigenous specie`s on this planet are ready for a rapid change in all industrial area`s. I also feel that the responsibility lie`s with the supplier`s, the consumer only buy`s what`s available.
but i really think they should really stop oil drillings cause it really hurts animals and there enviroments i love all animals so please stop oil drillings now
