Inspectors Needed
The Global Finance team is putting together one of the largest actions for this Tuesday, April 12th. This national day of action will involve hundreds of people around the country with specific flagship actions in New York City and Chicago. Targeting JP Morgan Chase and their famed Investments of Mass Destruction the goal is to draw attention to their lack of support for the Equator Principles, and agreement between financial institutions such as Citigroup, Bank of America and others, to commit to assessing the social and environmental risk in project financing. Since these banks have the largest sphere of influence worldwide, its a necessary first step to limiting the negative impact these banks have on our forests, waterways and wildlife. However, JP Morgan refuses to even take this initial first step. They’d rather stay in their cave. Help us get them out of the dark and on the road to financial integrity and progress. Sponsor a bank, make some noise, and bring JP Morgan Chase on board. If you’re really into it you’ll need to check out www.dirtymoney.org and find out the filty facts on JP Morgan’s project financing practices.
